Hacking Toolkit

project cover

Hacking Toolkit is a lightweight cybersecurity utility that I originally built back in 11th grade. At the time, I didn’t know about Git, GitHub, or proper version control, so the project lived entirely on my local machine as a collection of small scripts for hashing, encryption, and basic cryptographic operations. Years later, as my interest in cybersecurity and digital forensics grew, I revisited the project and transformed it into a proper GUI‑based Windows application.

The New Toolkit

The updated version of Hacking Toolkit was designed to support my personal digital forensics workflow. I compiled the tool for Windows, added a clean interface, and expanded its capabilities to handle hashing, text comparison, and basic cryptographic conversions.

While it started as a simple set of scripts, it evolved into a compact, practical utility that helps me quickly inspect binary or hex values, compare multiple strings, and generate hashes during investigations. Even though it began as a school‑level experiment, it remains a surprisingly useful part of my toolkit today.

Did I Us It ?

When I first needed this toolkit, I had no idea that professional digital forensics tools like FTK Imager, EnCase, or Autopsy even existed. I used to manually read disks using commands like dd and other low‑level utilities on Windows, thinking that was the standard way to do forensics.

After I finished developing my toolkit, I finally discovered the world of proper forensic software — and realized that many of the things I built weren’t actually necessary. Because of that, the toolkit never became my primary tool, but it still finds its place whenever I need to compare multiple text strings or quickly inspect binary and hex values. It may not be used as heavily as I once imagined, but it remains a nostalgic and genuinely handy creation.
